10 Minute Holiday Ritual: Panettone ( 1 MIN READ)

The holiday season has officially begun and it seems like yesterday we were putting away the beach towels. This time of year is beautiful, magical— and hectic.

Enter Panettone: the traditional sweet bread that we can’t get enough of. Light, airy, usually made with raisins, citrus peel, sometimes chocolate or our favorite— pistachio.

Each bite brings you a mix of bitterness from the citrus peel, sweetness from the raisins and the richness from the egg yolks. It’s just sweet enough to feel indulgent.

Italians have been devouring this holiday bread for centuries and it’s not about to slow down. Amongst Italian and Italian-American households alike it is the most common item to gift others when invited over to a friend’s house or just as a sweet way to say “thinking of you” during the month of December.

Usually Panettone is consumed with a liqueur or a glass of prosecco but pairing it with an espresso does the trick just as well.

If you feel like you’re in a constant state of rushing to relax— try out this 10 minute Christmas time ritual that will bring some magic to these busy days.
