3 Things You Should Know About Etna (1 min Read)

If you know me personally then you know I have a thing for volcanoes. A deep, burning love (pun intended), in particular for Etna, who was my companion when I was living in Sicily.

And— in case you missed it, Tuesday, Etna did not disappoint by giving us a profoundly beautiful and slightly terrifying eruption. In honor of that here are 3 things you should know about Etna:

  1. Etna is Europe’s most active and largest volcano!

  2. In 2003 it was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site

  3. Etna has been growing and erupting for the past 500,000 years!

Bonus: you can and SHOULD make it a point to climb and experience Etna for yourself on your next trip to Italy! (We can help!)

Next week we’ll be sharing our story from the first time we climbed to the summit of this beauty!

Are you interesting in visiting and climbing Etna too?
